This 1912 Model 32 Speedster was introduced in 1909 and formed the basis for the famed Marmon Wasp. The Wasp won the first Indianapolis 500 race in 1911 with an average speed of 74 miles per hour. The engine is a 318 cubic-inch four-cylinder producing 32 horsepower (hence the model 32 designation) coupled by a driveshaft to a three-speed transaxle mounted at the rear. It was installed on a 120-inch wheelbase chassis. The Model 32 featured rear-view mirrors, and was the first vehicle ever with this feature. This beauty was originally owned by Marge & Howard Campbell of Ojai, CA. Mr. Campbell, a movie producer – used this gem in several movies over the years. Later the vehicle was acquired by Enoch Olson of Salinas, CA. When the Pebble Beach Concourse got word … Mr. Olson was invited to show his Marmon and walked away with 2nd Place. The car went on several tours such as the National Tour in Oregon and collected several other awards along the way. The current owner during restoration removed the magneto which has been fully refurbished but not replaced, it just needs to be reinstalled. Vehicle ID: 2277
